Applying for any of our jobs is simple, however please set aside 10-15 minutes of your time before you start, because we like to get as much information as we can from you before making a decision on who we would like to interview. The process involves three simple steps.


Use the search box to find the position you are interested in

You can do this by either entering a ref number (if you have seen the position advertised) or by entering a keyword. Alternatively, if you want to view all our current job listings simply click on the VACANCIES tab above.


Answer our questionnaire

This is made up of general questions about your eligibility for the position as well as specific selection criteria questions.  Addressing the selection criteria is key to gaining an interview and should highlight your skills and experience relevant to the position.  All our Position Descriptions provide the key responsibilities for the role which will provide greater context for why particular aspects have been chosen for the selection criteria. If you have any questions or require clarification please call the contact person provided on the advert.


Upload your CV and Covering Letter

Simply upload your CV and Covering Letter onto our system by following a couple of simple steps.


Tips on Applying

  • You may find it useful to review the Position Description before starting the application process.
  • If you prepare your responses to the Selection Criteria in advance it will make the application process easier and faster. You are able to 'copy and paste' text into the application form. 
  • Ensure that your resume reflects your experience, skills and qualifications relevant to the position you are applying for.
  • Contact your referees in advance to ensure that they are willing to speak with us and that their contact details are up to date.  Please note that we ask for a minimum of two references who you have reported to.

Conditions of Employment

  • Confirmation of all appointments is subject to a 6 month probation period during which time performance and suitability will be reviewed by Council.
  • Subject to the above, conditions of employment covered under the conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2014 and Council's internal Policies and Procedures.
  • Satisfactory completion of a pre employment medical at Council expense (if required).
  • Subject to any relevant pre employment checks such as Police and/or Working with Children checks.
  • Agreement to abide by the Code of Conduct and safety rules and procedures.
